Alumni Spotlight VOL. II

MARIETTA, GA –  Our next Alumni Spotlight features Thunder LB3 Alums: Nate Solomon (Syracuse),Cole Haverty (North Carolina), Matt Higgins (Loyola), Logan Devereaux (Loyola), Charlie King (Loyola) & Ryan Gallagher (Rutgers).


Nate Solomon (Class of 2015, Attack, Centennial)

Going into his Junior season, Solomon has played in 31 games for the Orange starting 16 of them last year. As a sophomore, he scored 28 goals and chipped in eight assists while causing three turnovers and grabbing 13 ground balls. The No.10 Syracuse hosted a series of  preseason scrimmages this past weekend in the Carrier Dome. Against Le Moyne, Solomon had three goals and one assist giving him a total of five points for the weekend (4 Goals, 1 Assist). He looks to continue his momentum in the regular season home opener as No.10 Syracuse host Binghamton on February 10.


Cole Haverty (Class of 2015, Midfield, Westminster)

During his Sophomore year, Haverty appearing 15 games for the North Carolina Tarheels. Gearing up for his Junior year, he aim to make a bigger contribution on the field for the Tarheels this season. Off the field he was name to the 2017 Academic Honor Roll. Coach Breschi thoughts on Haverty,“[Cole] got a lot of runs last year…I think this year is a big year for him…he can be a major contributor…he had a very good fall…another tremendous athlete who can run the field…he can see his confidence improve every time he is on the field.” The Tarheels will start their season at home against Lafayette on February 3.


Matt Higgins (Class of 2016, Midfield, Blessed Trinity)

During his freshman year, Higgins played in all 16 games for the Loyola Greyhounds making his collegiate debut against the five time NCAA Champions Virginia Cavaliers. He finished the year with 18 ground balls and six cause turnovers. Higgins is heading into his sophomore season aiming to make a bigger impact this season.


Logan Devereaux (Class of 2016, Attack, Westminster)

Devereaux played four games for Loyola during his freshman year making his collegiate debut against Lafayette. He tallied up four points (1 Goal, 1 Assist and 2 Ground balls) and looking to add more going into second year on the team. Off the field, Devereaux was named to the Patriot League Academic Roll.


Charlie King (Class of 2017, Defense, Lassiter)

Entering as a Freshman, King received some playing time during some of the Greyhound’s pre-season scrimmages against Rutgers & North Carolina. He hopes to get more playing during the regular season. Prior to Loyola, he was six-time letterwinner at Lassiter High School (Four in lacrosse and two in football) and helped the Trojans to a 2017 State Title. In addition, King was a 2X US Lacrosse All-American, 3X First Team All-Georgia, 4X Scholar-Athlete and a Under Armour Underclass All-American.

The Greyhounds will start their season on the road at Virginia on February 10.


Ryan Gallagher (Class of 2017, Attack, Marist)

Gallagher will be entering his Freshman at Rutgers and has already received playing time during the pre-season scrimmages. He hopes to make his first collegiate debut during the 2018 season. Prior to Rutgers, Gallagher was named a US Lacrosse All-American and First Team All-State. He finished his career at Marist becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer in program history (147 goals, 180 assists). Rutgers will begin their season at home taking on Robert Morris on February 3.
