MARIETTA, GA – This week’s Alumni Spotlight features Thunder LB3 Alums: Lucas Wittenburg (Georgetown), Bruce Silk (Young Harris), Nate Solomon (Syracuse) and Sam Asman (Denison).
Lucas Wittenberg (Class of 2015, Midfield, Harrison)
The 17th-ranked Georgetown Hoyas had to pair of wins over No. 19 Towson and Mount St. Mary’s. For the week, Wittenberg had four goals with three assists. The Hoyas remain undefeated on the season with a 4-0 record and look to keep the streak going when they facet Hofstra on March 3.
Bruce Silk (Class of 2015, Attack, Johns Creek)
Silk earned the program’s first-ever weekly honor by being named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week ending February 25. Silk led the Mountain Lions to a pair of wins last week. For the week, Silk had eight goals and two assists with four ground balls and a caused turnover. Young Harris will host Mars Hill University on March 3.
Nate Solomon (Class of 2015, Attack, Centennial)
The Orange completes five-goal comeback victory over No. 9 Army (11-10 ), led by Nate Solomon who scored twice and added a pair of assists. This was the first time the Orange have overcome a five-goal deficit and won since ‘Cuse defeated North Carolina on April 15, 2017 and this was the first triple overtime game since April 25, 1999.
Sam Asman (Class of 2017, Midfield, Millbrook)
Asman had two goals including a pair of assists in the 11-10 win over No. 15 Stevenson. No. 4 Denison returns to action March 4 hosting the 18th-ranked Roanoke.
