John Holthaus

Playing Experience: College & Professionally | Coaching Experience: 20+ years

Coach Holthaus first played lacrosse as a midfielder at Washington College, making it to the DIII National Championship. He later played at Loyola College in Baltimore from 1987 to 1989. Post College, John played indoor lacrosse for the Philadelphia Wings. They won the MILL Championship in 1990 and made it to the playoffs in 1991. In 1992 he played for the MILLs’ Baltimore Thunder. His outdoor lacrosse experience included the Greene Turtle Lacrosse Club in Baltimore, Atlanta Lacrosse Club (selected as Southeast Rep in North-South All-Star game 1994), and the Buckhead Lacrosse Club. Holthaus was assistant coach at Loyola under Dave Cottle, current coach at University of Maryland. John also coached in the NCAA National Title game against Syracuse in 1990. From 1993-2004 he played/coached both of Atlanta’s club teams as well as assisted in several summer camps in Atlanta. John and his wife, Kirsten have 2 children.
